Lake Genevieve  Genevieve, March 2, 1996

Hi. It's me.

A while ago, my friend Carol was introducing me to some of her clients. She began to explain for them what I did in my job. It didn't take long before they started looking confused, so I blurted out:

"I'm just a guy."

That describes me perfectly. I'm a guy. I do stuff.

Most of the stuff I've done has been in local and state economic development in Michigan. Along the way, I've worked a lot with computers and networks. I design, organize, build, repair, and maintains lots of things. I manage, facilitate, counsel, motivate, and support many people. My friend Mike once told me that one of my greatest strengths is that I can do many different things at the drop of a hat. One minute I'll be writing a strategic plan, the next minute I'll be doing punch downs in the phone closet. An hour later, I'll be moderating a meeting.

geroge crumb music When I was young, I wanted to be a musician. I dreamed of studying composition with George Crumb and writing great music for the euphonium. Now I maintain the web site for a truly great musician, and an amazing person.

In 1995, the Michigan Economic Developers Association presented me the Mike Conboy Professional Development Award for the things I've done to help economic developers in the state of Michigan. The award was named for my mentor, who I worked with for six years. It was the greatest honor of my life.

I have two wonderful confidants.

My boys - Coltrane and Whitman

About four years ago, I began to experience some big changes in my life, which led me on a long search for who I was and what I was going to do. I built this site to help me learn.

But where is what I started searching for so long ago?
And why is it still unfound?
